Prem Marhe is a singer and a music composer rolled into one. Though based in Holland, he is very much patriotic and his heart belongs to India.
Last year, when he visited India, he was the first in his family who touched his native country after four generations. He was emotionally charged when he landed in India and felt very sad when he saw poor, illiterate, innocent and dirty children on every footpath of the city. On one hand white the other big film stars, politicians and Industriatists moving in hi-fi cars.
His forefathers went to Holland in the last century. Though an NRI, he is fond and keen admirer of Indian culture. As a singer and composer, he has been very much in the news. He rendered two romantic albums 'Love You So Much' and 'Milao Nazr' that are a big craze among youngsters. Besides him, Kumar Sanu, Kunal Ganjawala, Sujata Majumdar, Madhushree, Sadhna Sargam among others also lent their voices in the albums.
The musician lovedly calls Lata Mangeshkar as 'Sangeetmata'. Having worked with musicians attached to Michael Jackson, Marhe is one of the best guitarist in the world.
Well-known music company Genuine Tracks is planning to make an unique and original album comprising of duet songs in the voices of Marhe and Lata Mangeshkar.
Commented one of the noted music directors here in a radio interview, "No one can touch his voice in Bollywood." Music composer Usha Khanna has also blessed him

Presently, Marhe is busy with his forthcoming musical albums that would of a different genre altogether. The album will have lyrics and music by Marhe himself.
For the future, Marhe wants to do some charity shows for the downtrodden children who he says are 'future of India".
